The Project Cometh

11/09/09 - 5th Day - Afternoon. Howdy y'all. The December Project cometh quickly. This is our last week before the DP is underway. For those who do not know about the December Project, let me 'splain... No. Is too much. Let me sum up...

Last year, as an experiment and a test of our lifestyle and preparedness; and because we cannot stand be "in town" during the pagan world's "holy days", we decided not to go to town the whole month of December. The experiment was successful and showed us many of our weaknesses and things on which we needed to work. This year, our December Project is going to be longer and deeper. We will not be going to town (DV) from November 16th through the 1st of January (6 weeks and 3 days), and during that time we will not be using the computers, Internet, etc.

What does that mean to you? Well, it means that, for the most part, this blog will not be updated, and you will not be hearing from me or reading from me until next year... UNLESS... you are on our December Project snail mail list. In which case I will be sending out regular writings to you folks who have requested to stay in contact and receive snail mail. IF... you want to be on the December Project snail mail list, I will need you to snail mail me and ask to be put on the list. It would be great if you would include 6-10 Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelopes, but this is not a requirement. Anyway, mail me a request to:

M. Bunker

Santa Anna, Texas 76878

Please also snail mail me any Q&A Fridays questions (about anything) if you are already on the December Project list and have questions for a Q&A Friday or two during the DP.

>>>For The Most Part<<<<<

I did say "for the most part" this blog will not be updated during the December Project. If something critical, urgent, or very important happens during the December Project, I may post (or have Webmaster David post for me) thoughts or instructions during the DP. But absent that, I do not plan on updating the blog. On Friday, if the Lord wills, I will post these instructions along with the mailing address so that people will know not to email me or expect electronic communications with me during the DP.

So... don't email me after Sunday November 15th. The only way to contact me will be through snail mail, and I do not want 5000 emails waiting for me when (if) I come back in January. The best thing to do is to get on the December Project mailing list, and/or mail me if you have something to say to or ask me.

I posted some good oldies that you may not have read at The Best of Bunker blog, so go check those out. Here are some more to read and study while I'm away. You have to click on the links to get the whole article...

The Prophet
December 26, 2005 - I want to expand upon the teaching I have done previously concerning Prophets in my commentary on the book of Isaiah. The true body of Christ is one body made up of diverse members with diverse functions (called gifts); each of these functions are to be performed diligently according to the faith given and according to the purpose for which God has placed each elect individual within the body. Let us quickly examine our study verses...

Supernatural Revelation, Part 1
September 12, 2005 – Where the people do not have a supernatural vision of truth from God, those people most certainly perish (Prov. 29:18). The Hebrew word which is translated as vision in this Proverb relates to a supernatural revelation of truth that can come only from the throne of God. When the people are wicked, when they are satisfied in themselves, and when they operate only according to their 5 senses, they perish and do not know it...

Supernatural Revelation, Part 2
September 26, 2005 - The scriptures give us ample information about our own times, if we are willing to be diligent in seeking out the meanings of God's types and shadows in the Old Testament. When we see wicked, apostate, Israel (a type of the church) facing utter destruction we know that, if we are diligent students, we can glean information that will be applicable to our own times...

Butcher season is starting too... so tomorrow (if the Lord wills) we will be butchering up a wild hog. Yum, Yum.

I have to get to work. I hope all is well with you all.

I am looking forward to hearing about the December Project outcomes after you come back. I really will miss our near daily interaction, however. I did not realize how much it meant to me to be communicating with you and the others until I started thinking about it going away. I plan on handwriting (!) a lengthy letter to you and your family about our family; I hope you read it and aren't too exasperated by it. I am also looking forward to your snail mail missives but am wondering how you are going to accomplish this? Is photocopying allowed during the DP? Taking that thought further, the very thought about what it would take to set up a press to be able to make multiple copies without electricity or modern ink is daunting. Well, I am off to start my own version of the December Project: severely limiting my online time to mainly work-related or research time, and working on methods of clothing production for my family: angora rabbit and hutch, sheep research including visiting a few local shepherds, joining the local weaver's guild, making a drop-spindle to produce thread and yarn, learning more crochet and knitting, and finally learning how to knit socks! I hope to get through all of these by January, with much of it ongoing afterward and adapted into our life ;)

Mr. Bunker,
Our family will be participating in a version of the December Project next month...I haven't announced it on my blog, but I'm looking forward to the simplicity of it.
Thank you for all the inspiration!!

Michael,

I'm sorry I haven't been commenting. I know how you love comments, even if they aren't all that intelligent (like mine LOL). Anyway, I have been having some health issues. Please pray for me. :-D

I was wondering if you got me on your list. I know I sent a letter, but didn't know if I was clear why I sent it.

:-\

If you don't remember who I am, please let me know and I will e-mail you.

Thanks. (By the way, I am not all here upstairs, because of my health issues right now, so I'm sorry if this is not really making sense.)
